Qualifications or Experience?
We’ll take both, please!
“A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt possesses a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Lean Six Sigma Methodology, including a high level of competence in the subject matters contained within the phases of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC)”
This definition, as penned by the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Body of Knowledge, explains, in a nutshell, the value of gaining this much-accredited accolade. Indeed, by understanding how to implement, perform, interpret and apply Lean Six Sigma at an advanced level of proficiency, the transformation of an organization becomes smooth, precise, and well defined, and the deliverance of excellence to customers becomes second nature.
Applying this wisdom, are not one, but three sixsigma black belts in Europe-based plastic experts ADIS Tachov s.r.o. Utilizing a collaborative approach, their qualification, AND their decades of experience, co-owners Marc Ammerlaan and Jeremy Svoboda take a hands-on approach to running the company.
Both huge advocates of lean and the associated approaches, they apply it to every aspect of their operations. Furthermore, it’s safe to say that this vast library of knowledge seeps through to the veins of every employee to create a huge synchronized ‘machine’ of people all running with the same approach!
From the alignment of their vast range of injectionmolding machines, through the traceability of individual product lines throughout the factory, and onwards to the packaging and distribution which is seamlessly integrated and timed with both the production run and shipping schedules. The cycle of continuous improvement results in new ways of working which would have been unimaginable just a few years ago.
Holding a qualification in the theory of manufacturing is a surefire way to enter the industry, and holding multiple blackbelts in your management and operations team is something worth shouting about, but the true story begins when you see that knowledge teamed up with the experience of implementing and perfecting that theory in practice. Something ADIS does daily and at scale.
