How do you ensure resin quality from A to Z? Here’s our take.
When we talk about perfecting a process, the start and end are often a blurred line into the real context of the changes. However, when it comes to injection molding, ensuring that you have proper resin storage is as important as any other step in the process.
Improper stacking and storage can lead to reduced strength, flexibility, and overall performance due to thermal degradation and moisture absorption. Here are some essential guidelines for proper storage that we follow:
✔️ Documentation and Handling: Properly documenting and handling materials upon delivery and addressing any damage or shortages immediately.
✔️ Stable Conditions: We carefully maintain stable warehouse temperatures and good air circulation. Ensuring dry, water-free conditions and moisture content monitoring regularly.
✔️ Stock Rotation: Rotating boxes and pallets often to avoid pressure points or failure over time.
✔️ Proper Alignment: Alignment of pallets correctly and carefully to avoid bending, damage or wear over time.
✔️ Compliance and Airflow: Always adhering to stack height to properly comply with fire codes, and health and safety directives.
As a company deeply invested in maintaining quality from A-Z, our resin inventory is a key part in the drive towards perfection. By following these steps we ensure optimal performance, and it’s just one of hundreds of small (but essential!) steps to ensure we continue to deliver the excellence we’ve become renowned for.
